When you buy a license on Alfa Images, [Company legal name] ("we") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, perpetual license to use the file as described below. You license the right to use the file, not to own it. The contributor keeps ownership. "Image" in these terms means any photograph, AI-generated image, vector file or video licensed through the site; the same license terms apply to all of them unless a section says otherwise.
For AI-generated images, copyright law in many places does not protect a work made without meaningful human authorship. Where that is true for a file you license, there may be no copyright underlying it at all — this license is still our grant of the right to use the file as described below, and it works the same way in practice either way.
Your license stays valid, and the file stays available to download from Purchases, even if the contributor's account is later closed.
Images marked "Editorial use only" may be used only to illustrate newsworthy or educational topics. They must not be used for advertising, endorsement, packaging or merchandise. Credit the contributor and Alfa Images where you can.
The price shown at checkout is the full price for the license. Downloads are digital and are delivered straight after payment. If a file is defective or the wrong file is delivered, contact us within 14 days and we will fix it or refund you. If we refund an order, the license ends.
For a video, where a downscaled "HD" rendition is offered alongside the original, choosing it at download is your choice of file, not a separate purchase — both carry the same license.
Your license certificate and download stay available under Purchases in your account.
We check contributors' ownership and release statements, but we cannot guarantee every image is free of third-party rights. We do not offer legal indemnification under this standard license. Each contributor is solely responsible for the images they upload and for the accuracy of their ownership, release and labeling statements under the Contributor agreement. We are a marketplace that connects buyers and contributors; we do not create, own or independently verify the images beyond what is stated in these terms. If a claim, dispute or legal action arises from an image — for example a copyright, trademark or right-of-publicity claim — that claim is between the claimant and the contributor who uploaded the image, not [Company legal name], and you agree to bring any such claim against the contributor rather than against us, except where the law does not allow this limitation.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about an image is limited to the price you paid for that license.
We may end your license if you break these terms. You must then stop using the image and delete your copies. Existing uses that were already published in line with the license may stay.
